Dave Carlson
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Carlson has over 20 years of senior-level healthcare management experience with specific expertise in business process outsourcing for benefits, human resource programs and information systems implementation. Specific professional accomplishments include:
- US Business Leader of the HR Outsourcing Practice at Mercer Human Resource Consulting, where Mr. Carlson drove the vision, thought leadership and strategic initiatives behind Mercer's innovative outsourced HR technologies and delivery solutions.
- Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Synhrgy HR Technologies – which provides a full range of human resource outsourcing services to Fortune 1000 companies. During Mr. Carlson's tenure at Synhrgy, the company grew its annual revenues from $0 to $50 million and was sold to Mercer.
- Principal and director of outsourcing at Hewitt Associates, where Mr. Carlson developed and oversaw one of the firm's outsourcing practices and national service center operations. Building this practice into one of Hewitt's most profitable business units, Mr. Carlson focused on developing an outsourcing solution for the previously underserved mid-sized market, clients with 5,000 to 20,000 employees.
Mr. Carlson has a Master’s degree in Management and Management Information Systems from Northwestern University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Systems from Taylor University.
Richard Wolfe
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Wolfe has over 12 years of senior-level management experience successfully servicing large outsourcing clients serving as operations manager, delivery group manager, implementation manager, ongoing project manager and lead systems analyst. Recent professional accomplishments include:
- Senior Operations Director and Principal with Mercer HR Services, where Mr. Wolfe was responsible for solution architecture and delivery of services to large outsourcing clients.
- Senior Director at Synhrgy HR Technologies, where Mr. Wolfe was a key contributor to its development by providing significant business operation and product development leadership.
- Senior Implementation Manager at Hewitt Associates, where Mr. Wolfe was responsible for implementing services for large outsourcing clients.
Mr. Wolfe holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance and Economics from The University of Pittsburgh.
Elizabeth Babin
Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Babin has over 20 years experience in accounting and finance in public and private organizations within a variety of industries. Recent professional accomplishments include:
- Senior Vice President and General Manager for Friedkin Business Services, an organization providing financial and accounting, human resources, benefits and payroll outsourcing services to a group of companies operating in the distribution, transportation, insurance, retail and direct marketing segments of the automotive industry.
- Vice President, Treasurer and Vice President, Controller for Barnes & Noble Inc. during its years of significant growth and transformation from a mall-based bookseller to the world’s largest bookseller between 1988 and 1998.
- Senior Manager for KPMG Peat Marwick, a public accounting firm.
Ms. Babin is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Louisiana State University.
Chuck Benedict
Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Benedict has over 20 years of senior-level technology experience and an extensive track record of success within a broad variety of technology disciplines including voice and data networking, systems integration, systems management and operations, application development, software engineering, and systems and business analysis. Recent professional accomplishments include:
- Chief Technology Officer for Mercer HR Services, where Mr. Benedict was responsible for specifying, building, maintaining, and operating the technology used to deliver outsourcing services to Mercer’s large outsourcing clients. In this capacity, Mr. Benedict managed a team of 80 full-time employees and contractors that consisted of product and project managers, analysts, architects, developers, and quality assurance staff. Technology that emerged from Mercer’s product development group was consistently deployed to production with low defect rates and low maintenance costs. Mr. Benedict was also a senior-level member of Mercer’s Operations Leadership Group and Product Strategy Team.
- Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of Synhrgy HR Technologies, where Mr. Benedict oversaw the construction of Synhrgy’s HR product technology and managed the construction of Synhrgy’s data centers and the technology selection and integration of Synhrgy’s call center technology. While at Synhrgy, Mr. Benedict was an early adopter in implementing web-based technologies for the company’s outsourcing business.
- Independent consultant focusing on systems integration projects for large call centers.
Mr. Benedict graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems.
Doug Hogenmiller
Senior Vice President, Business Development
Mr. Hogenmiller has focused on achieving client goals through strategic outsourcing initiatives for over 15 years. His work in the human resource industry includes benefits administration outsourcing and deployment of defined contribution health benefits programs for some of the largest employers in the U.S. Recent professional accomplishments include:
- Vice President of Sales for Extend Health, where Mr. Hogenmiller led both product development and business development efforts for Extend Health’s retiree medical programs.
- Management Consultant for Hewitt Associates, where Mr. Hogenmiller was responsible for helping larger U.S. employers to achieve administrative, economic and strategic advantage through various outsourcing initiatives.
- Senior Account Executive for industry leading entities, such as FTI Consulting and Moore Corporation, driving business development efforts across the U.S.
Mr. Hogenmiller holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Texas State University.
Andrew Sawyer
President, Empyrean Insurance Services
Mr. Sawyer has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry with expertise in carrier relations and broker and product development. Recent professional accomplishments include:
- CEO and Board of Director for Benefitport, a general insurance agency with a vast broker network and wide range of product offerings where Mr. Sawyer was instrumental in the acquisition of six U.S. insurance agencies and two technology firms.
- Chairman, CEO and co-founder of Weston Insurance Brokerage, a general agency for the New York and New Jersey markets. Under his tenure at Weston, Mr. Sawyer helped the company achieve double-digit growth each year and grew the company from 500 groups and 60 brokers to over 18,000 groups and 2,500 brokers being one of the largest general agencies in the country. Weston was sold to Marsh Mac Trident 1 where Mr. Sawyer later formed Benefitport.
- Active agent selling life and health insurance for 12 years at Phoenix Mutual, where Mr. Sawyer was recognized as a "top ten" producer for the company.
Mr. Sawyer graduated from PACE University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
