Business Analyst

Location: Houston, TX

Job Functions

A Business Analyst works directly with project managers and closely with our clients to deliver services. Our Business Analysts are responsible for understanding clients’ business processes and proposing how to automate those processes most effectively, while leveraging a wide-range of human resource programs.

To fulfill this role, the analyst will:

• Understand technical design specifications, including definition of test conditions and complete test plans.
• Performs acceptance testing of ongoing processes at time of program changes.
• Perform data processing activities for ongoing client services and assist with resolution of participant issues.
• Assist in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules to ensure timeliness of deliverables are met; notify project manager and/or client if timelines are in jeopardy.
• Understand basic Internet and client/server architectures and possess working knowledge of SQL, and database design.
• Understand expectations that were set with client and recognize when issues/events may affect delivery.
• Take input from supervisor and appropriately and accurately apply comments/feedback.
• Create logical and innovative solutions to complex problems.
• Work closely with developers and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.
• Share acquired skills with team members through formal and informal channels.
• Ensures proper documentation of standard procedures.

Qualifications

• College degree
• Domain experience in health insurance and/or benefit administration is a plus
• Minimum 1 year experience using SQL and a working knowledge of relational database systems
• Demonstrate analytic and design capabilities
• Self-starter with excellent organizational and time management skills
• Fast learner, quality consciousness and committed to deadlines
